Looking for "DeutscheLinne" ??? Recipe

Hi,

I'm looking for a recipe my mother-in-law told me about that she had when she was young and lived in NY. She called it "DeutscheLinne". That's how it sounded to me and she didn't know the exact spelling.

She said that her mother made it with a frozen bread dough, 3/4 of it went into the bottom of a baking pan, cinnamon sugar poured over that, then the other 1/4 of the dough went on top, more cinnamon sugar, and then a milk mixture over all and then baked. Supposedly ends up with a custard in the center.

I've tried different variations of this but without an exact recipe I just can't seem to make it turn into anything edible.

Does this dessert sound like any recipe that someone has? I was thinking maybe it was Penn Dutch or German.
