ping: Sandy: Zojo & temp equalization time

Sandy, I read your information re buying a new Zojo machine. I'm wondering if it has the "temperature equalization" feature on it that requires a sit-to before starting. This would not be a plus for me (unless one could elect to NOT select it) as I 'hardly ever' bring my water to 80º or whatever; I take my yeast right out of the refrigerator, and my wheat flour always comes from the refrigerator. My Toastmaster now is a 1.5'er, but I did this previously with the 2# loaves in an Oster.

This feature would definitely make the same kind of bread ALL the time if it had to be brought to the same temperature everytime one bakes bread.

I see that there are only two models of Zojo, based on size of loaf. Am I correct, and that you bought the bigger of the two. Thanks, Sandy, for your input. Dee

Dee, I don't have my new Zojo yet; no one in town carries them. Amazon should be delivering it early next week (BTW, they're offering $25 off this month!). At any rate, my old one brought everything up to temperature for me; I keep my flour in the freezer and use cold water from the tap; I have had no trouble with my loaves not baking correctly up to now, and I assume (dangerous!) that I won't with the new machine, either. The model I bought was the BBCCX20. HTH.

Thanks, Sandy. I downloaded at Amazon the manual for the model you are purchasing and I see that you can turn off the Preheat. Nice to know. I, too, usually buy from Amazon when they have the $25 off AND free shipping. What-ta-deal. I may be purchasing a new one myself later on. It's got a place in my head right now until I'm 'ready.'
