Spike and Romeo just got a present, Hubby and I couldn't resist one of these beds on sale at Costco:

I was a little worried about old, blind Romeo with the stepping up part, and the bed was bigger than I thought, but both the boys love it, so I think it's a keeper. Now I want a little quilt and blanket for it! Also, Spike has worked for weeks to teach Hobie, the foster dog, how to play tug-o-war. He would literally go up and try to put a toy in Hobie's mouth. Hobie caught on, finally, but he gave up too easily. Spike would sling his head and Hobie would let go and looked like, "Owwwwwwwwwwww, you play too hard!" Lol. Hobie was also a little intimidated because Spike growls so much when he plays.

Finally, today the two got into a good game and Hobie seemed to catch on that the play growling is fun too, and the two of them were tugging, running, and growling through the house. Some much for the parquet floors. We put ceramic tile in the kitchen a few years ago, and one day, I want it in the rest of my house!! It's certainly doggie friendly.

Love the beads, Jerri! And the doggie bed is as cute as it can be! Is Romeo a foster or a permanent resident? I don't recall seeing him before. That's so nice that he and spike share the bed!

Dawn >^..

Hi Dawn,

Romeo's mine. He's a little warped and camera shy, so I don't have too many pictures of him. He's on my web site, but there's only one photo of him. We've had him 12 years, but he's probably 14 or 15. Now that he's blind, and a little deaf, the camera doesn't bother him as much.

Romeo was mistreated, and was blind in one eye, before he came to us and it took me ages to get him into the house. He was terrified. He spent years in my walk-in closet. Right from the beginning, that was his favorite place, so I gave up and put a bed in there. He's very sweet and gentle, great with kids, fine with other dogs, but he gets overwhelmed if there's too many people over or too much noise and he'll go hide.
