AD: color sorted (un-dyed) Job's Tears

Hi all,

somebody contacted me in December, saying they were interested in about

10 lb light colored Job's Tears (rather uniformly light gray, but some have small darker ends), so I sorted a large bunch of Job's Tears by color. They ended up getting their Job's Tears elsewhere, so I now have color sorted Job's Tears available. There's about 7 lb light color ones, about a couple lb brown ones (can sort more), and I can also do striped ones and 'light with dark ends' (I call those "Siamese Cat beads") ones. 'Dark with light color ends' is a lot less common, if anybody is interested in those I'll have to check what I have.

$36.-/lb, shipped priority mail flat rate in the US.

Maren,

Do you grow Job's Tears? I've never used them and wouldn't have a clue what to do with them, although I've seen lovely rosaries made with them. I've wondered if I could grow them, just for fun. Something about growing my own beads sounds appealing. I read that they are tropical, but also found an article about someone growing them in Ohio, so I would think they could grow in Georgia.

I planted some on our land (not in the back yard, but at the so-called farm) because road side picking is getting harder to find. I'm pretty sure you can grow them in Georgia. They're part of Cherokee tradition, which gives you an idea. I wouldn't have guessed Ohio though, though southern Ohio isn't that much further north.

They're related to corn, and they grow where corn grows naturally, so, well, thinking about it, Ohio isn't such a stretch after all.

They're what got me into making jewelry :-) (see where that got me. I just placed another rather large order for freshwater pearls, semiprecious gemstones and fire polished crystals)
