Basic Beading Venture into a whole new area! Make beautiful pieces of jewelry using semi-precious stones, pearls and crystals. Learn where to buy materials and how to construct elegant pieces that will bring great pleasure and a sense of real accomplishment. Introduction to Beaded Jewelry Create and design your own beaded bracelets, necklaces and earrings utilizing all types of beads including pearls and semi-precious stones. Both traditional and contemporary construction methods are taught: stringing, knotting, weaving, headpins, wire and chain. Resources for beads and supplies are also covered. Emphasis is on design and quality construction. Advanced beginners initiate their own projects. Bring a light colored pillowcase, 4mm round, glass beads (approx. 100) and small sharp scissors to the first class. Marsha Davis

Creative Beaded Jewelry - Intermediate and Advanced Offers creativity and exploration for students that have completed a beginning course in beaded jewelry. Students are encouraged to design their own projects while exploring new techniques and expanding upon previously acquired skills. Introduction to Seed Beading This class will introduce you to the engrossing world of seed beading. You will learn a number of intriguing techniques (such as peyote stitch, brick stitch, herringbone, chevron and netting stitch) with which you can make bracelets, necklaces and earrings. Introduction to Seed Beadwork - Intensive In this fast-paced course, learn the basic stitches needed to create jewelry and objects using these tiny, enticing beads. Learn off-loom stitches including: peyote or gourd stitch, brick stitch, herringbone (Ndebele) and right angle weave. Simple projects will be offered for each stitch. No previous beading experience is required. Bring small, sharp scissors and a light colored pillowcase to the first class. Marsha Davis

Introduction to Beads and Wire Explore a variety of techniques used to combine beads and wire. Use headpins, eyepins, wrapped eyes, jump rings, chain and wire to create earrings, bracelets and necklaces. Bring the following to the first class: an assortment of practice beads, copper and brass wire, wire cutters, chain-nose pliers, round-nose pliers and a cloth to use as a work surface. Marsha Davis
