An AllHallow's Wish

To my dear RCB'ers, near and far--- Its the day of Allhallow's Eve, when the time changes, when the wheel turns and the curtain slips a bit and we can see glimpses of Things That Are Different Than They Have Been. When night falls on this day, give a thought to your loved ones that are no longer present, to your ancestors, to your own actions that have come and gone, bringing you here as the person that you are now. What will come next? May it be enlightening, joyful, awsome, provocative, and shared with those you cherish. Blessed Be! Blessed (be-ads) too!!

And Blessed Samhain to you as well Sarajane! It's nice to read a post from someone who knows about this holiday and it's true significance!

Boy I don't envy you having to sort through all the stuff in your new room, but once you get it organized it's gonna be great. I'll be watching to see what new creations you make.

Have a great week!

Thanks for all the good Hallowe'en wishes. I'm sitting here at the puter, waiting for some kids to show up. So far, we've only had two come by and it's already 7PM. Not good since we bought A LOT of candy, fortunately I only bought one kind that I'll eat, but it's still way too much, lol. I'm wearing a witch hat with purple and black hair (not mine), purple top, purple jeans, with a lampworked Hallowe'en cat bead by Mavis Smith. I've been thinking a lot about my parents and others who have crossed over. Tonight I can feel my Dad really close by, I miss him so much I feel like crying. He's been gone a long time, but this has been a difficult year for us and there are so many things I wished I'd asked him. Patti

I only buy the kinds that we eat - for the same reason . I'm glad I'm not the only one with this peculiar (or not?) habit :-)

Maybe I'll be sitting at the computer for a while too tonight, it's directly facing the front door. Thanks for the tip. May actually get the necklace pictures out of the camera, and even downloaded.

still have my parents, but on days like this I miss my grandmother more than usual (she'd be 122 now if she was still alive).

Thank you Sarajane. I thought of my ancestors in Europe. I hope the candles we placed the window and the extra place we set for the cherished souls who have moved on in recent times gave our fun Halloween party more depth and meaning. I hope for better times to come for all. Blessings to all for the coming All Souls Day, light some candles and in honouring those who've passed, remember to hold dear to those still around us. Love light and peace Marisa AU/NZ

Blessed Be everyone!

We had a fun evening, except for the idjit handing out "evils of Harry Potter" pamphlets. I need to make a dartboard and teach the kids proper "pub rules" darts.

Weight Watchers and Halloween don't mix. This sucks!!!! I had one peanut butter eyeball (yum!) and a "crispy ear" from a body parts package. DS whispered that he has a Special Dark mini stashed for me in case of emergency. I have great kids!!!!!

KarenS (despite my whining I've lost 15 lbs. in 2 months!!!!)

Sarajane, thank you for the beautiful post and thread.

As night fell, I was driving home from Los Angeles on Hwy 5. I didn't have the luxury of thinking about much except staying on target. (Those who know me will understand why driving from LA to the SF Bay Area was a bit rough.) Halloween/Samhain is my favorite holiday, though!

We were blessed by a totally uneventful ride, safe and no close calls. Well, not *totally* uneventful -- I found some dynamite art supplies (found objects) at one dirt road, out-in-the-middle-of-nowhere stop. Somehow, when I got out of the car and took a stretch-walk, I had this knowledge that I was going to find some goodies. Isn't it weird when that happens? Just wonderful!

Blessed be, and a happy New Year. Love, Sooz

A belated Blessed Be to you!! We had a wonderful Samhain weekend - a beautiful public ritual, and a feast with lots of good friends. Happy New Year to all who celebrate it at this time. :)

It's an old post but I just read it and it moved me. Thanks Sarajane!

My All Hallows started with a strange event: I went to bed late on October 30th and woke up a few hours later with the sound of the front door closing and a woman in hard shoes walking across the living-room floor. The footsteps stopped at the kitchen door, and then there was nothing.

A few minutes later a cacophany arose outside; some myterious thing that wailed, wheezed, rang, and rattled. I was pretty sure I was dreaming at first, but then I heard it go around the block and up the street, fading away, and then coming back and doing it again a few times until it wound away into the distance. It sounded like a dozen witches screaming off-key and ringing broken bells, riding on a rattletrap pickup truck made of chicken wire and tin roof. In fact, that might have been what it was, for all I know.

How very cool!!!! Perhaps they needed to borrow a cuppa something, and having provided (it) from your kitchen, now you get all sorts of wonderful response this next year!
