another question 7/25

where would you find the "jackets" that the posts go through for earrings? someone was showing some earrings off that used them not long ago, but i've never seen those kinds of parts advertized.

Vicki,

Basically a jacket is anything flat with a hole in it that you can put between the front and back of a stud. For example if you had a little CZ stud and you put a skinny bead cap curving outward between the cz and your ear and then put on the back, you'd have an "earring jacket" surrounding that CZ. If you had a flat round thing with a hole in the middle and a hole at an edge, and then hung a bead from a chain from that disc and put it between a gemball and your ear then put the nut on the back, you'd have an earring jacket.

The earring jacket is a creative/addaptive bit you add on, and I don't know of any finding called an earring jacket.

If I'm right in thinking what you're asking about is the earring backs, I've bought that sort of thing from Kliens.

uhm - i don't think so. i know what backs are.

"jackets" go between the stud front and your ear - to use to hang beads from . . .

Actually I have seen some in the back. Like a large d\glod nugget stud, with a jacket behind it with little nuggets fanning out in half a corola from behind.

Is the the kind of earring back you're talking about, Melinda?

Rio has some items in their new catalog which would work as earring jackets -- small, thin carved-stone flat leaves & flowers, center-drilled.
