Bead stringing

I have just begun to string beads, but I am a little awkward (and stuck) about the ends. I threaded back through a ring, then a decorative little silver ball, and then a 2mm crimp. I clamped the crimp and cut off the excess thread. Is that it?

Do I do the same at the other end? Once the determined length is finished, do I do the same with a parrot clasp (plus ball and crimp) at the other end?

Thanx for some help here.

Cheers

Well you didn't say what the stringing material is... if it's Fireline or somekind of beading wire, crimps work OK. But if it's beading thread, the crimps will probably either cut the thread or work their way off. I've not had really good success with crimps on bracelets either - they don't seem to take the extra stress very well.
