I'm a bad Mommy

I've been making beads the last couple of days. It has been *ages* since I have been able to get to the torch. Both days my year old border collie, Grace, ended up laying under my work-table and twice I dropped hot glass on her! Yesterday it was a boro piece I was trying to repair and dropped a piece of it on her and today I was pulling a raku cane from frit and dropped a chunk of frit on her head. Poor Gracey! Thank goodness neither accident resulted in any pain for her. I am not entirely sure where the first piece landed but both times there was the scent of burnt fur and today I ended up digging the piece of frit out of it's little dog-fur nest on her head!

Thank goodness there were no yelps or even dirty looks. I guess there is something to be said for walking around in a fur coat full-time. I'll be encouraging her to use the doggy bed that is well away from the torch from now on.

If I have anything worth sharing in the kiln tomorrow morning I'll try to post pictures.

Awwwwwww, Poor Grace!

I have an old loveseat in the workroom for Spike. It's covered with snuggly blankets and it's the only furniture that he's allowed on, so he loves hanging out there with me!

I just chuckled to myself... but only after knowing your dog was okay. I can see that happening with my big furry cat too. So far I've only melted holes in my rug (not the cat). ;-)

I'm laughing again even though a flaming cat is not funny. I think they have a sense when it comes to fire (or I hope they do).
