I haven't been online much anywhere in ages, as we're still working to keep afloat literally and figuratively, but I too would hate to see the place where I was first introduced to the fabulous bead community fold. I am sorry I have been invisible for so long, I simply haven't had the spare breath or spirit to post, and I apologize for that to everyone.

Think of me. I'm away for three days, in charge of 47 teenagers in our busiest city, Auckland. We stay at a central backpackers and walk to most places. Sky city, ferry to Devonport, movies, then bus to ice skating, hot pools, and fun park. Ours are country pupils and have been chosen for good behaviour. We have lots of fun and laughter but not a bead in sight. I might manage a few minutes in Borders.Treat myself to Belle Amoire and maybe a bead book. Yes, I do have other staff to help. Then school finishes and I can rediscover beads for a few weeks.

Cheers, Jan

I wish you could see it in person too, Shirley--then I'd take you down the street to Lucille's Creole Cafe for a cup of creole coffee or tea and a plate of beignets! SJ

Hi, Barb, How is the new (or is it not so new now) job going? Are you thinking ahead to Bead and Button for June? I might go this year. We are off to New Mexico for 6 days on Monday - I can't wait!! It's been about 7 years since I've been back. Such an inspiring, artistic place with, of course, lots of beads! Hope your holiday was happy and fun,

Patti
