New to group...

Hello All! Excited about this group, and hoping contribute as well as everyone else does. Am currently starting my own Jewelry Biz... so if anyone has any tips, tricks or advice, feel free to chime in! I will be attending and displaying my designs at my first local show in June, and am excited about that, along with getting the paperwork and admin stuff for business operation completed. And, Spring has finally come to the NorthEast!! We still have some snow and ice, but have had a good week (temps in the mid-fifties to mid-sixties!!) I missed the sun, but am glad it's back! Ciao! Karole

Welcome! I have found jewelry to be a hard sell, but I guess it's different for everyone. Lots of luck to you.

Hi, welcome to the RCB. Northeast huh? Must be somewhere around me. So, you are starting your own jewelry biz. Exciting and also boring at the same time. Waiting for this or that... the state and local bureaucracies can be such a bore! Glad you found us. We'd love to see your work. Got any pics on line you can share??

Thanks, Located in Southern Maine...when I posted last, we still had piles of stubborn snow and ice, but thankfully that is now gone! I have had some limited success with sales, mainly because I haven't done any shows yet ( my first show is June 14,. I have a good network of loyal customers and do some custom orders, and minor reworking/repairs. I am an Inspector originally, but have been laid off four times in the last ten years. My husband told me I should just try doing my jewelry full time, because the market for my day job is so unstable. So here I am. I also do some home decor, and other stuff besides jewelry. I am excited about this group, beause of the level of professionalism, and the amount of information every one shares! I will be posting some pics of my stuff soon. When I do, please feel free to offer any advice or criticism.... being a newbie to all of this, I welcome input from others with more knowledge and experience! Thanks Again, Karole

Hi, and thanks for the welcome! Located in Southern Maine, and at my last posting, we still had stubborn snow and ice in the yard, but fortunately that is all gone! And all the birds are back and waking us up in the morning.Where are you located? I have just started to deal with local and state bureaucracies, and haven't had any major issues yet. Getting the office and work area set up, and going to my first show June 14. I have a class tonight at a local arts center- I will get to meet the Helwigs, creators of the WigJig tools. I enjoy working with wire, wrapping, and making my own components and stuff. I'm an Electornics Inspector by trade, I have been laid off from my day job four times in the last ten years, with two plant closures, so have decided it would be better to start my own business. Was going to do this eventually, when my child goes to college, so I just moved up the timetable a bit. I will be posting some pics very soon, and welcome advice, observations, and tips from all. Input from others who have been there before are very welcome! Must go, schedule to keep! Again, Thanks for the Welcome. Sincerely, Karole a.k.a TwistedAngel

Welcome to RCB. Sounds like your weather is just a couple weeks ahead of ours here in Fairbanks, AK. So, what does Band Mommy mean?
