OT A Beautiful Sunny Day

Yesterday was cold and rainy. We even had a fire. Sometimes if it's cool I bake something (like Pete's "green" muffins), but yesterday we needed a fire. And I spend some time putting roses on gauze bags for Susie's wedding favors.

Today, though still cool, it's bright and gorgeous. Actually it's been bright and sunny most of the "night".

I plan to put in the petunias and some herbs. My garden is small. Most of my yard is wild stuff. I know I ought to cut the grass (and I don't mean lawn), but I probably won't. I'll just chop some of the tall stuff around my few flower beds. And I'll pull a few weeds too. My little "vegetable garden" has a row of perennial flowers, a row of wild Alaskan chives that is indestructible (I love the purple flowers in salad), a row of strawberries that come up each year, a row of peas, and a row of turnips. I'm not crazy about turnips, but they're one of the few things that grow well, and the moose love them. Actually the moose come and eat the tops right before they're really to harvest; then I go and get the roots. I also have a few potatoes, though the ground is too cold for them to do well.

Someone gave me part of a heavy silver and turquoise watch. One of the two wedge shaped pieces next to the watch face. I'm thinking of putting a wire through where the pin goes to hang it as a pendant, and add some dangles or a crystal. I have it on my desk in front of me now. As a matter of fact, my desk is always piled high because I keeping putting things on my desk to think about.

Your desk sounds very much like mine. Full of bits and pieces while I think what I can do with them. We have had sun and showers today but I did get the washing dry before the rain came. Hugs Shirley
