Ok, some of these are so amazing... DH sent them to my mom to scetch since she's been taking some classes on drawing birds. Thought you guys might get some inspiration out of them too. (a couple of cute bath pix as well)
The Sugar Monster, LOL. Those are cute pics. I want to see this mysterious pink stick that they fight over!! That cracks me up. I really had no idea that birds were so cute and funny, except the big birds you see perform in shows at animal parks.
TOOOOOO CUTE!!! I love seeing them, Marisa, but I want to see the infamous pink stick too! And, if it's not invading their privacy, a pic of them snuggling and kissing. Such sweeties!
Now, what I want to know is why my birds won't bathe in anything but their water fountain, which has a 1x1/2" opening and is completely inadequate. They get really excited about running water, but they ignore or avoid any open bowls.
Mucha would ONLY bathe in a juice cup (really dangerous as you may've seen in one of his videos).
These guys will ONLY bathe in that little blue bowl (which unfortunately has a crack and leaks). Sugar seems like she would like a larger bowl of water since she kind of tries to swim but there is no room. But when we try a larger bowl she won't go for it.
Lately Lila won't go in this bowl either. She just takes a sip or dipps one toe in (it is really cute) and then she won't go in.
I know my mom's cockatiel would only bathe under the faucet. Actually I have seen lots of film clips of birds happily bathing on someone's finger under a faucet.

How about melting some wax and dipping the outside of the bowl in the melted wax. As long as you don't need to use hot water in the bowl, it should work to seal the leaks.
It won't be pretty, and hopefully the pretty beurdies will never notice. From what you write, they're even fussier than Sophie and all her pillows. We have pillows in every room of the house for her to sleep on (she absolutely must be in the same room as I am), and the pillows need to be smushed in just the right way, and in the correct place before she'll sleep on them.
Last night, one of the pillows was especially stinky, so I sprayed one side with Febreeze. (Didn't let Sophie anywhere near it until today, just to be safe) This afternoon, she sniffed the now pleasant smelling pillow, got upset, and turned it over so she could sleep on the smelly side. Insane psycho puppy. She has me well-trained.
We always have to be concerned about them eating anything like that so we'd have to be careful.
We saw another bird site where the bird was enjoying a bath in a pie pan (ala Baker's Square) so we tried that today. So far they've taken a few sips, but no bathing yet.
*LOL* Virgil would never sleep on a pillow. When he does go on the couch he gets really exasperated at all of hte blankets and pillows and has to throw them off or flatten them before he will lay down. He is a neatnic (I guess part of his "metal" personality). Lilly used to love my messy bedroom (when I lived at home) and when stuff moved around she seemed to treat it as a new advienture, but Virgil would stand in the door, sigh, and slink away when I tried to call him in there.
*LOL*!!
