OT: I ran away from home

I really did! LOL All this mess and confusion that is the world of remodeling finally got to me and so I spent 5 nights in a hotel. It wasn't a

4* by any means, but it was still cleaner, quieter and less stressful than my house. I do feel a little bit saner... so anyway, I didn't have access to the NG during that time so that's why I haven't been around. Too bad I couldn't go to the beach (or anywhere distant for that matter) but the solitude did help. Not that the house is finished!!!

Good for you. And, in my background they say 'nothing is as permanent as the temporary'.

We do this on a regular basis. Many years ago we bought a timeshare on the other side of the island. Just getting away from the phone, and whatever needs to be done around the house and yard does it for us. We've had times when we didn't make it as far as the timeshare place's pool. Sleep, read, watch TV, go out to eat rather than cook - and in my case I sell the occasional piece of jewelry, there are more tourists and stores that cater to them on that side, and I stock up on dry side seeds. -

I meant to reply to your other message first, but my network connection (or google) didn't let me.

How fun! I've often wanted to "run away from home" for a night or so! One time, a friend felt that way, with all the pressure of kids at home, etc., so we had her come spend the night and fixed shrimp for dinner, and margaritis, and I think she felt like it was a mini-vacation!
