OT: Meet Baby Bella (Butterbean would be proud.)

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to introduce Baby Bella. She was a rescue piggie and just came home with us on Sat. She is 3 weeks old and should get about 5X this size.

To tell the truth, I'd been looking around, preferring a rescue, and really was going to give up looking until Spring. Then, a friend of mine in IN, who runs a guinea pig rescue, put me in touch with a fellow rescuer that she knows down here.

Bella is eating up a storm, so I'm sure it won't be too long until she fits into Butterbean's wardrobe!

Here she is:

My daughter said it looked like she was sitting in a hot tub.

How fun! We fostered a Jack last year and he was a hoot! A friend of mine adopted him, so we still get to see him.

Thanks! Yep, we think she's mostly Abyssinian.

She's mostly Abysinian. Abbys have the cowlicks. She may be Abyruvian (Abby/Peruvian mix). We'll see if some long hair comes out as she gets older.

Yes, there's some dogs that just won't tolerate small pets. We had to guard the parakeet when we fostered the Jack Russell. Fortunately, he never noticed the guinea pig, as she's up on a shelf.

Can't wait to see what else we come up with for her.

She is such a cutie pie.

We spent several hours yesterday puppy sitting. Our son and his family have got a Jack Russell puppy. So we got to look after it for a while, it is 8 weeks old. We had JR's for 20 years so it brought back memories for us. In total with the puppies we had 11 of them.

I think she will be spending a lot of time at our house in the future. Shirley

Oh Jerri! Soooo cute! What is her "kind" called? The kind with all the cowlicks? I had one but can't for the life of me remember...

Riiight!! Well, she's adorable! Thanks for reminding me btw. :-)

Makes me want one!! But, as I've said before, our terriers would lick their chops if I brought one home, so that's a no go.

Jerri, So glad that you have added her to your family! I'm also happy for everyone on rcb, that we'll be able to see some great costume pictures once again.

Happy Holidays,

Uh oh, Caesar has competiton! What a doll baby! I didn't know there was such a thing as guinea pig rescue either... would that be when mom and pop piggies were too active? I can't imagine anyone wanting to hurt a cutie like this!

So adorable, although her red eyes makes her look like she could shoot laser beams :-)

So sweet, Jerri.

I was so sad at the news about Butterbean. I'm glad you have a new baby to fit Butterbean's shoes (literally if not figuratively)
