OT....Merry Christmas

Just sitting here waiting for my daughter to arrive from Vancouver and we are starting to *blizzard*......apparently we will be snowed in by midnight.

So just wanted to come out of lurk mode and wish you all a Merry Christmas (which I consider to be PI, grin) and give you the link for my favourite Christmas Song.

Anyone old enough to put a name to the 50's singers?? (G)

Actually, Merry Christmas is not PC any more... What the bozo's are now saying is PC is "Happy Holidays" so we don't offend anyone. Baaaaa, I think all this PC crap about Xmas is just that - crap! The month of December has always been the Christmas season for Catholics and other religions who believe that Christ was born on Christmas day. Why do we have to change our holiday greetings for people who don't practice the same faith? If you'd rather celebrate Kwanzaa, then you say Happy Kwanzaa and I wont be offended. Believe what you want and celebrate in your own way!! Do you know that in some schools here in the states, the kids cant put up an Xmas tree, decorate, or even have an Xmas party because it might offend someone who does not celebrate Xmas? Is this ludicrous or what? Just my

2¢ Heather, but I will be PIC and wish you a HAPPY CHRISTMAS back!! *grins*

LOL!!! How true that is. Toronto is very *multicultural*, but I refuse to stop saying Merry Christmas, no matter what the politicians/bozos say. My views are *if you want to live here in Canada, then adapt to our culture.......not the other way around*.....which is probably considered PI. But I never followed the unspoken rules anyway, so why start now??

Merry Christmas to all......Heather, in the middle of a durned blizzard!!

Way to Go Sterling!

I haven't been here for quite long time, but just had to put my 2 cents in to agree with Sterling about Christmas. I also wish everyone a "Merry Christmas" rather that "Happy Holidays" or "Season's Greetings". To me this time of the year IS Christmas. I figure that most everyone probably celebrates in one way or another -- the whole season is too commercial for them not to at least get together for a meal and exchange gifts!

I feel sorry for all those who don't celebrate Christmas, Kwanza, Hanakkuh or whataever because without a little celebration from time to time, life gets awfully boring. I thoroughly enjoy the added Christmas services and parties and family times-- not to mention I the added sales from all those purchasing gifts!
