]It's Gravity (or gravitational force, to be more proper). The weight in ]close proximity to the rest of your body is attracted more strongly than it ]was when it was just food on the table. I think the inverse square law ]applies. (Something twice as far away has only one quarter the gravitational ]attraction)
okay. i think.
huh?
i must be having senior moments again.

well. okay. i'm not sure i was joking, exactly, but that's okay.
i've been working out an hour/day, six days/week, for almost two months. and inch or two change here or there - nothing else. not a pound.

Vicki,
You are gaining MUSCLE and loosing Fat....You weight will not change much because muscle weighs more then fat.

well, partly, i understand that. but i want to get back into my CLOTHES. muscle-bound, i don't need - and the trainer knows that. but i really, really, really, need to lose some of this mess between my waist and my knees!!!!!

If you're losing inches, you're accomplishing your goal (as stated in another post: to get back into your old clothes). Weight is sort of a red herring here, as muscle is denser than fat; it's quite possible that as you gain in fitness you will weigh as much as you did before, but be quite a bit thinner. Concentrate on the measurements!

hmmm. okay - i'll keep working on it. after all, my Jamie doesn't LOOK like she weighs 100lbs soaking wet, but weighs considerably more.
somehow, though 170 for only 5'6 and medium bones still sounds pretty heavy!

The Law of the Conservation of Fat: Fat is neither created or destroyed, it just moves from person to person. If you're losing fat, it has to go someplace. if *everybody's* losing fat, it has to look around to find someone who hasn't been paying attention. :o)
Aron
thats about what I weigh too.. a bit taller, a bit heavier... the question is do you feel healthy? Your body might just like being that weight. Maybe what you need is a new wardrobe! Diana :-)
Yes, but muscle is more compact and smaller than fat.

unfortunately, no. i'm not comfortable. i'm very UNcomfortable.
120-130 [or the shape that went with that weight] is where i feel good. and i'd have a new wardrobe, if i could get back into it. **grin**----------- @vicki [SnuggleWench] (Books)

**grin* dear, i'm SURE age is playing a factor! [don't tell my kids, though - they have enough ammunition for their age jokes!]i'll keep the "journal" in mind. now that you mention it, moving furniture to vacuum WAS easier . . .
