Oh kewlness!!! I have to ask... when will you have the copper and brass ones? I am just a poor man in Ohio and plus I love copper and brass. :) I also love gold and silver, but alas.... I will have to settle for brass. :) Besides.. they always say to reach for the brass ring. LOL I better stop here.

lol Harry I love that saying "reach for the brass ring" :)
I'm hoping to have the wire in by the end of next week at the latest, and then rings a day or two after. Once I get my invoice from them, I can calculate how much the buggers are going to cost :)
I do have some copper available now. Let me know what you are looking for and I can see what I can do.
I'm pretty jazzed about being able to offer the other rings (brass, copper, goldfilled) It will give a nice variety to a lot of the chains that I've been doing too :)

I am not real sure what I want... well I know what I want, just don't know how much. lol I have plenty of ideas and want to try very hard to make them... I am praying for guidance and energy to do it... and I guess courage... always afraid I will fail so I don't try. Took me a long time to get the Paua out. I will let you know... maybe... yes.. I will... maybe... no I will! LOL

hehehehe you sound exactly like my boyfriend - he really wants to get into silversmithing :) He's got the same thing going on.
Do it Harry - come to the dark side of chains :) It's fun... really.... I promise :) I succomed and finally went all the way over, and so I'm DOOMED (have you seen the commerical where they keep saying "DOOMED" ) Doomed, DOOMED :)
I'll let you know when I get it all figured out :) I can't wait to start playing with the stuff myself :)
awwwww thanks :) Don't DIE over them though, cause that's just not a good thing :)
I love mixing metals - that's the coolest :)
Oh Harry, making unsoldered chains is sooooo easy. there are a gazillion instruction pages available, that give you ring gauges and counts.
2 in 2 is the easiest for learning how to open and close jump rings. after that, probably, the flower chain. then i would move on to the byzantine...simple but looks complex. japanese 6-in-1 My Favorite!!!!After you've played with those styles for a while, you'll start to form your own link shapes, I use hammered "s" and "egyptian coil" links as the base of some of my work, and connect them with rings . Then, onto your own chain patterns 'cause you have a few of these rings, and a couple of those, and that great bead....
Next, you'll move on to twisted wire and making your own wire beads................. ya know how you are about Paua? That's how I am about metalwork.
Have you seen these sites:
don't get started Harry...it's an addiction and it can't be stopped. I actually am taking a break from chain woven jewelry to finish up some wire crochet pieces and am making a necklace of hand twisted wire right now...but I get the jones for chainmaking every day.
there are great tutorials available for chains that are less often seen, and i will find the link later.

**smile** i AM going to learn. one way or another!----------- @vicki [SnuggleWench] (Books)
Oooohhhh Lisa - those are two of my favorite sites !
and I fully heartedly agree - Silver is a serious addiction!!!
I am going to give it a try and I know I will be hooked once I start. I looked at several sites and I feel I could do a few and like you said, with time I will learn the rest. Some of them I looked at made me go cross - eyed, kind of like Jerry Lewis when he smashes his finger or something. lol

I know I am going to want a bunch of them... shoot... I might make a carpet for my room. lol I am going to make an abstract for my wall with tons of stuff hanging from it. I am seeing a design simalar to what a fish net with big holes in it would look like. Oh my goodness do I have a lot of idea floating around in my muddy water. LOL
