Season's greetings

Christmas Day morning here. The sun is shining although rain is expected. Church first, then a two hour trip to family north of Auckland. 20 for dinner. I made the pudding, first time I have ever made one, and sent it up with family who were going earlier. Will have a stroll on the beach at Takapuna after dinner.

Enjoy the day everyone.

Cheers, Jan

as we're on the last end of the day, on the order of 24 hours later: I guess a stroll on the beach would have been OK here too, but the days are kinda short, and while it may not have been raining at the beach earlier in the day I'm sure it is now, and has been pretty much since we had dinner. We had 6" snow on Mauna Kea today, not that we were able to see it other than on the satellite images. It's been years since we had a white Christmas.

We had turkey with stuffing, potatoes and sweet potatoes, kabocha pumpkin (which was rather awful, we didn't have one in the yard so I had to buy one, and if that vine was growing in my yard it would go into the green waste (recycling)), and really really good gravy (Norman makes wonderful gravy.) - And now, as there's just the two of us, we have way too much food left over.
