I know what you're going through with Mercury, Sooz. I just went through something similar with my old guy, Bobo (20 yeasr) - lethargic, not eating, feverish. Three visits to the vet, which included valium shots to stimulate his appetite, ffluids, vitamin shots, antibiotics and numerous pills, and an overnight stay. He came home Thursday, ate a little, was feverish yesterday and went back to the vet last night for a B-12 shot and more fluids. He ate a little last night, and then this morning, the lovely sound of "Meow!" at 6 am (meaning, "Feed me, woman!). He's feeling better and so am I.

So healing vibes and love to you, Kevin and the Merc man from me, Bobo, Stinky Pompatous and Myler More.

Love,

Linda2

When Trink got so sick she couldn't even move I forced water into her mouth with a syringe every 30 minutes or so. At least it kept her mouth from feeling like cotton.

Merc is definitely in our thoughts around here.

{{{{{{{{{{{{Linda2 and Bobo}}}}}}}}}}}}} 20 years is a _wonderfully_ long time to have with Bobo! I'm glad the excellent care you're giving him is helping the old guy stay with you for a longer piece of time. Every extra day you can have with him is pure joy, I'm sure.

I can just imagine the syringe I'd need to do that with Merc and have it be effective!

The dehydration is only a guess -- and only in hindsight. I don't think he was actually dehydrated, not so it affected anything enough to matter. He's stronger tonight than he's been in many days! What a GOOD BOY. The people at his new vet hospital said he was a great guy, so cute and such a good dog. (Of course he is!) He's snoozing here by me. He should sleep well tonight....I know I'll sleep a whole lot better! ~~ Sooz To live a creative life, we must lose our fear of being wrong. ~~Joseph Chilton Pearce

I just caught up with all this news, I've been rehearsing intensively since Wednesday (including all day Sat and Sun!). I'm so glad Mercury is ok. You take it easy hon, you must be a wreck.
