Testimony for Tink beads

I was wearing a blue enameled one on a long chain while out shopping and the next thing I knew the chain came undone and the bead fell off and bounced along the very hard brick paving. Bounced. It did not have so much as a nick in it.

Tink, your beads are a marvel of beauty and I can attest to their durability!

Yay! Whenever I'm trying a new technique or style that is appreciably different (like the bangle beads) I torture the first few to see what they can take. I did manage to break a bangle bead last week, which led me to revise the construction a bit.

Thanks for letting me know you guys. "Tinkbeads: Glass with Muscle"

So I'm outside taking pictures for this week's auctions. I have a Bead Girl tote bag nearly full to the brim with beads sitting on top of my car. (I had my little photo setup arranged on my trunk because I like the look that natural light is giving me these days...)

In a convoluted twist of coincidences, a gust of wind causes me to jump to grab the white paper the bead is sitting on, causing me to lose my balance, which makes me panic that I will drop my camera, which leads to, eventually, the whole bag of beads tipping over, the contents bouncing all over the driveway. Concrete driveway.

I never really realized how bouncy glass can be.

Out of what must be 200 beads or more, the only loss I had was a hollow fish. He was cool, too... *sigh* And all he lost was the tip of one fin. Everything else was just fine! I'd say proper annealing really DOES work!
