Tina?

As I remember you live in Alaska, just what area are you in? We traveled in our van and trailer in l996 and drove the whole loop, think in total from home,( Northern Calif.) 8,000 miles. Oh how I loved that trip and your state, so beautiful!! Marilee

96 would have been a couple years before I started on Usenet. But I was here in Fairbanks then too. I'm Northwest of town in a log cabin. I love living in the North, though lately I've been having problems with not having the right doctors we need here. Have to go to Anchorage for a Rheumatologist and an Endochrinologist.

Where are you in Northern Calif? (I have to admit, to me the term means Shasta or at least Chico, not the Bay Area smack in the middle of the coast).

I live in Lincoln, about 30 miles north of Sacramento, Chico is about 75 miles north of us. It use to be a small town, when growing up, pop. about 2000, we are at 38,000 now, of course that was many moons ago!!!! I envy you your log cabin, always wanted one, just love the looks!!! Marilee

What hiway is Lincoln on? I grew up in Calif, and my son and granddaughter live in Sacramento. My mother lives at Rossmoor, except when she ski-daddles to the mountains in the summer. My sisters live in Oakland, Lafayette and Vallejo. My brother's live in Lompoc and on an in-holding in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest (very remote). My father was born in Oakland in 1905 and has cows and chickens right smack in the middle of town. I love taking the train in CA because it reminds me of the more rural Calif that I knew as a child.

One cool thing about the logs is that since they interlock, they kind of roll, instead of shake, when there's an earthquake.
