I have some flat nose pliers that are about 4mm on the tips. I'd like to find some smaller 2-3mm ones. The smalles Rio Grande has is about 3.5mm. Anyone know another good source for pliers?

Also Jessie had several flat nose pliers that had been modified by grinding the tips. My husband has promised to do that for me, but I haven't bought a pair for him to grind down yet. If that works, I'll let you know.

Maybe Radio Shack or a place that sells tools for electronics.

Yep, those look like they'd work, but I don't have a resale number either. Darn.
I thought about the grinding too, because I think that's what my teacher last year had done to some of her pliers, but I wouldn't know who would have the equipment to do that.
That's a thought. It can't hurt. Thanks Tina.
If Ed's successful, I'll let you know and you can either mail some flat nose pliers up here or come visit ... I'd trade his work for lampwork :-)
What are the notched or ground pliers good for? What do you do with them that works better with them than with pliers with standard ends?
Deirdre
Thanks! I didn't know there was such a thing!
That'd be a deal!
A friend of mine in Ct. said there's a gem show up there next week and she'll look for me some. That'd be great too!
Thanks Susan. I'll talk to hubby about giving that a try.
Hi Deirdre,
I'm not sure what notched pliers are for. What I want is smaller flat nose pliers. If you look at this bracelet:
you can see where the wire is pulled up in front of the stone. If you look close to the bracelet, you can see where I turned the wire up with the pliers. I would like smaller pliers for making that area smaller.
No, wrong shape. They need to be flat on top for what I use them for.
I have a set of micro pliers I got from PMC Guild. They're 3mm.

The site I expected to refer you to is down. I'll have to look some more.
