Wow! Mini-bead show at LBS

Our LBS had trunk shows Friday evening: Leah Fairbanks, lampwork beads; Derek Lusk / Opal Illusions (her husband) with cut stones, stones and pearls with inset gems, cut Oregon opal, Oregon sunstone, Australian opal and more; and an African trade bead vendor. A mini bead show!

It was so great to see Leah's lampwork in person, and I wish I had several hundred dollars to spend on lampwork and several hundred more to buy Derek's Oregon sunstone or Oregon opal rondells or briolettes. Ooooooooh, pretty!

I am lucky to have two of Leah's beads - one I actually won at a silent auction at our bead society where we both were vending. I saw Derek at the Big Apple Bead Show and fell in love with an Oregon sunstone ring which I bought later. It's a beautiful stone, very unusual, sort of a peach color. They are going to be at Whole Bead Show in NYC later this month, I can't wait!!

You ARE lucky!! Do you have photos to share of your beads? or your ring? Did you incorporate the beads into any jewelry? Would love to see ... and of course, we'll expect a full report after the WBS in NYC.
