Alphabets

Okay, so I've had my 180D, Ultimate Box, and Embird for a while now. I haven't tried rehooping to do a big design - yet - but I do have the multi hoop and I've split designs to go in that. I bought half a dozen of the Embird alphabets, and also a disc with the Greek alphabet from Ann the Gran. I've made quilt labels and embroidered sayings and the Greek letters on sweatshirts. I've had a lot of fun! But there is something that puzzles me.

On various sites I have seen elaborate alphabets - hot air balloon alphabets, snowman alphabets, cow alphabets, etc. Most of these have some kind of graphic, repeated 26+ times with the letter plunked in the middle, or near the middle. Now, what do people do with these alphabets? I can't see using most of them for monograms - a few of the less cutesie ones might be okay. You wouldn't use them for a saying. Putting them on a kid's quilt is the only thing I can think of, but even that might be a little tedious.

I guess I'm getting imagination-challenged in my old age. People must use these for something. What?

Thanks,

Iris

Iris, I have been looking on annthegran.com for her Greek alpha and can't find it. Can you draw me a map, please?

I see that someone else beat me to it. Just wanted to say that I have used several of the alphabets on tee shirts and they stitch out very nicely.
