What, may I ask, are "Braile Fonts"?
Did you try looking it up? Braille - Two L's, but enough people misspell it so that even if you looked it up with one L you'd have gotten a lot of hits :)
Braille - named after Louis Braille, who invented the system. A system of writing for the blind using raised dots - the dots are arranged in two columns of three dots each. Braille writers used to have six levers to press (plus a space bar) - which ones you pressed determined which of the six dots were embossed. There have also been typewriters that created the embossed letters, and large-scale "printing presses" to produce such things as books for the blind. Reader's Digest and other magazines produce a Braille edition.
A "Braille font" is a computer font that prints the images of the six dots. Not useful for the sight impaired, of course, but an interesting embroidery use - since the embroidered dots could be felt.

Thanx for that info. I knew what braille is and I did not do any searches for them as I figured they must be more than just ink images on paper to be useful...LOL
I just couldn't figure what they were doing in embroidery and why somebody would produce them for paper printing computers. Maybe they were fonts for some kind of embossing machine??

The original post (in a different thread) was from someone who wanted to embroider some text in Braille on a greeting card to send to a friend. Here's her original note:

You can also use them for 'embossing crafts' such as pergammo where vellum is pressed with an embossing tool, rather like a pen with a metal ball instead of a nib, this raises the surface and they are readable for Braille readers. I have just done some on cards as well. I also did it on the envelope along side the written addy. My friend was well impressed, Ann I am considering making a stencil for easier embossing.
