Hi, does anyone know of any groups specific to the Brother 1500D or does anyone have one so I can ask a few questions, just got it today ! thanks
Thanks everyone for your replies, my first question is about the Mickey design that appears in the brochure, it doesn't seem to be on my machine and I an very disappointed. The second question is, once you have changed a design which includes a disney character can I write it to my card to take it back to my computer to tweak it in embird. thanks, Maria
As far as I know, you can't change the Disney designs in any way, except maybe combine them in the larger hoops. I know you can't re-size them, and you can't flip them, which is frustrating. You can save designs from the card to the machine's memory, but I don't think you can write them to the card. I'd bet big money that you can't do it with Disney designs. They are quite protective of their trademarks and copyrights and don't want any alterations to their stuff.

I have some Disney designs which I "saved as" .hus files in Embird, which then allowed me to do some minor editing (some of the stitch fills and outlines were atrocious), then I "saved as" .xxx files for my Singer XL5000, and stitched them out. It worked just fine for me.

Yes, there are lots of Disney designs available. But ordinarily the ones that are built-in to embroidery machines are not extractible. Some that originated on separate cards have been extracted.
Thanks everyone for your help, Herb you mentioned that designs from cards had successfully been extracted, have you ever heard of anyone extracting the Vintage Mickey designs ?
No :(
There are hundreds of images available on the web that are suitable for personal digitizing, though. Google Images for "Vintage mickey"
Thanks Herb do you have any idea what process was involved in extracting the designs ? Has brother made it more difficult over time ? I have seen all but 3 cards extracted. The three are Vintage Mickey, Pooh Honey Toys and Halloween pooh. I have the Vintage Mickey card but would prefer to add text etc in Embird rather than in the machine

I haven't got the slightest idea.
It would seem so.
Yep, Herb, those were the designs I was talking about. I don't own any Disney cards - too expensive. However, if I could find the Seven Dwarfs I might be interested.
