There's not much out there that can accept those old Wings-NGS files. There weren't many when they were newer, either.

This one works well, and is free, but can only convert to file formats that DO NOT contain color palettes, so you absolutely need associated color charts.

An excellent free conversion program is Wilcom's "TrueSizer"; while it does support designs with color palettes, it can't do anything with .ngs files.

think that there used to be a 30-day evaluation version of the old Wings, it might be possible to find and install a copy of that and use it heavily for the 30 days to convert your collection to something useable.

Here's a conversion product I haven't tried, along with some links to other free products. It converts from .ngs, but again, only to non-

Wings itself (and its follow-on Corel DraWings) CAN save in home machine formats such as pes and hus, maybe it would be possible to contact the company and ask THEM to convert your collection. - Herb

My error. When I googled for

convert .ngs embroidery

The summary hit for embroidermodder included "(reads NGS,MLS,DST,DSZ ... "

But now looking again at the page the text was from a description of the Coates Viewer.

Hello Jon,

I would be glad to help but I don't even know what "embird" or "NGS" is. I am unfamiliar with those terms.

What do those mean?

Why are your responding to a question in the alt.sewing.mach-embroider newsgroup if you have no clue what machine embroidery design formats and digitizing software are????

Really? You do realize the whole "Lord" & "God" things are nothing but superstitious mythology, don't you?

Does "F." stand for Freekingstoopid?
