Thanks for the heads up. I can "read" headers, but considered that this poster's comments required a followed up even if the sig block was forged.

I should also have mentioned that Vista (or any new OS) is not always the problem either. The hasp/dongle is a 3'rd party device and it is usually only a matter of that company supplying an updated driver that is compatible with the new OS. Then again, sometimes a virus scanner can be the culprit, so the answer is not always simple.

So bottom line...yes this is the correct forum for requesting help with this problem.

.. and the support you give to that train of thought I do underline the fact there is more than one avenue of research. Often it pays to cast your lilies on a bigger pond, and, as I said..no one knows if you do not let them know. The MS groups have MS engineers subscribing, it may well be a slooooow "backdoor" but it i s a backdoor.

Flames etc are not the usual in these NGs.
