embroidering on baby t-shirts

When I do any kind of t-shirt, I only use a ball point needle.

Okay, I just learned a valuable lesson. I'm just not sure what it is. I chose a design that wasn't too dense and got all the right stabilizers but then the needle holes made the material run -- you know, like pantyhose. So, is there a special needle I should have used?? TIA

I too do more quilting than anything else, but have had fun with the embroidery. It makes great labels for the quilts!

Thanks Debbi -- can you tell I usually quilt? This new embroidery machine is proving to be an adventure!

I also use the embroidery part of my machine to make the labels, just little simple ones that show the date, my name, and now washing instructions, so that they won't ruin them. i never thought to use a ball point needle while embroidering on knit material, thanks for that info, next time i'll try that.
