Hi, Has anyone used the endless hoop by Husqvarna Viking, is it as good as advertised?

Ann, I have never heard of the endless hoop. Is this the new hoop that Viking has come out with? I have a Designer 1, and I understand there are a lot of new things Viking has out now, but I haven't seen them yet. They also have a new embroidery machine which will make a debut in September.

I just bought the endless hoop and made a strip of free standing lace (to use on top of a wedding dress if my daughter likes it.) It is the size of the 100x170 and you stitch the design til finished then lift a lever on the hoop and pull the fabric toward you so the needle is at the jump stitch to line up and the edge of the fabric lines up on the right side of the hoop. Then close the hoop with the lever and stitch..repeat as much as you need. Clear as mud??? Anyway I like it. Comes with 3 designs. I had called my dealer to hold one for me as there was a sale at the store a couple of weeks ago. When I got there they said they had sold out (but they had mine).

I've called two dealers and they won't give me a price on the phone. What was the price on your hoop, Pam. Do you have to use special designs or will it work with any embroidery pattern......like cars or butterflies or Greek keys or whatever. I have a D1 and haven't really seen anything in awhile that I really wanted to buy. Well, actually I DID want to buy it but the smart part of my brain said very loudly, "And just how much do you think you're going to use that, Missy?" I could probably justify this new hoop, looks like fun! Val

If I remember correctly it was 140. I bought several items that day so can't remember if it was that or 149. I am pretty sure tho 140. It is pretty much for borders as the right edge has a raised part that you use to line up the fabric (along with the needle point) to keep the border straight. I haven't tried much other than border. You can use other patterns but they won't have the jump stitch for lining up the needle for the repeat. However I used Embird and copied the design, pasted a repeat where I would want it. Then you need to see where the first stitch hits on the first part of the design. Then I just mark that with the purple pen and use that to line up. Hope you can understand this.

Makes perfect sense to me. I might have to toddle on down to the dealer and see if I can play with it for awhile and also see about transferring designs and such from some of my files.

Thanks, Pam.

I do not try my existing designs with it. Bought a spécial card. But on the Designer 1 Yahoo forum, they use their software to add some points fo align the design. Not yet at this work. Will have to learn how to do with Embird L.
