If you are considering buying this, just remember that if you hunt around a bit I don't think you have to add much to those $500 and get PE Design 5 with the USB card-writing box instead and be better prepared for upgrades in the future. But PE Design 4 is very good as well!!! Love mine!!

The dongle is a security device for the sofware to prevent illegal sharing. If you don´t have the dongle connected (for PED 4 it´s placed in the parallell port) the software won´t run.

I paid $700 for this, so I'm taking a $200 loss for a program I never used. The 2002D my neighbor has is soooo tempting, that's why I'm hoping to sell this and my PE-150 (already sold) to help pay for neighbor's 2002D. Forgive me if my price is too high... I saw this software selling on ebay for above $500 and thought I could at least get that for it.
Right now, it's at $430 so I'll offer it to the highest bidder for that.
If you don't mind me asking, who is your dealer and where are they located?
