Happy Voyager

Well I just rec'd my Happy Voyager complete with optional cap attachment. Since I have never operated ANY kind of embroidery machine before I am wide open for suggestions, tips, ideas, etc. I have never seen a demo either so I have just gotten to the point of setting it up and threading it. I can't load HappyLink till my laptop arrives, which should be within days. Meantime, should I just wait for the laptop or could I 'sample' stitch w/o it.......if so, how?........I am really at a loss. Sure wish there was a rep nearby somewhere.

Hi Jo Are you UK or USA I keep looking for another machine for a mate who loves to come and play with this one here. I have great support from the guy I purchased mine from. Mine is not for commercial use though I have my hubby calls an enhanced hobby, But also my eyes are not now the best so it is far easier to use than my other embroidery machines. Mind you I wouldn't part with any of them incase anyone in the family or at school decides to join in the sewing. I sew a lot to raise funds for football club with my little guy who's 9 and for school fetes etc. I have never used it with a card and I use embird to convert the files to dst and change the size of things. On that side the other group in the Binaries section gives me lots of help when I need it, designs that the kids and their friends pester for. They are a super set of guys to share so much and help so often. The manuals are very good, I like the fact that the hooping is far less hassle than ever b4 and I don't always need to hoop the stabiliser and can just pop it under as it starts to sew on the non stretch things as the guy showed us. my hubby does the tec thing for me. It is also so much less time consuming as you don't have the need to thread the colours all the time a thing that really took me ages with the bad eyes. i have only very rarely had to re thread and suffer minimum thread breaks. I would have liked to have seen a video supplied when purchased but I can only assume that as they are commercial machines the big guys don't need one! Ive had mine about 4/5 months I think (must get some new brain cells one day!) and everyday I fiddle with something. At the moment I am doing wash bags for the summer fete on the 3rd July - last year they would have taken about 30 mins each with the threading etc this year they take only 11 mins each as the speed is also a bonus. Feel free to ask away would love to help if I can. Have fun Mooie

I think I read on their website that there IS a video that was just recently released for the Voyager. I sure would like to get a copy of it. I don't get 'binaries' on my server but have heard a lot of reference to them and how helpful they are. I tried thru Yahoo to go there.......I can read them, but no downloads are allowed. Yes, I live in Arkansas, USA. I am a 64 yr. old grandmother and am hoping I haven't bitten off more than I can chew. I AM computer literate however. and hoping when this software is installed I can use it to its potential.
