Help with sticky hoop!

I'm sure this has been addressed before, but I missed it... (sorry!) Due to the use of spray "temporary" adhesive, my hoops are very sticky. I guess it's not "temporary" on the hoop, but then.... I've tried nail polish remover but it is only minimally effective. Anybody care to share their favorite solution? Thanks so much. SM

I have used the sticky remover that is safe for photos with great results. Unfortunately I do not remember the name of it. It may have been called undo or ungoo. I think you can also use googone but that smells pretty bad so be careful. I know that an old towel with either product works better than paper towel. My hoops looked like new after about 10 minutes work. hope this helps. m

DK5, check with a fabric or sewing shop, it's made for that purpose.

In the UK it's called Sticky Stuff Remover.

I have found that soaking them overnight in a mixture of white vinegar, warm water and a tiny bit of dawn dish soap work wonders. (its a bit smelly)... The acid from the vinegar eats away at the spray.

Acid cleans them- not acetate from nail polish... I suppose lemon juice may work well also.

I use a product called 'Oops' it removes sticky residue. I have used it on my machine's embroidery hoops many times with no problem.
