Hooping Jeans Jackets

I have finally located almost all the jeans jackets that I need for seven grandchildren, so am starting on this project. Now, here is the problem. Hooping areas to embroider is a litle trickier than I expected. Areas with seams are very bulky, so create a thick and uneven area to hoop. I have had some success, but not the freedom I expected. Is it possible to not hoop at all? What would I use then? Obviously, I would have to hoop the stabilizer, right?? The smallest jacket is a size two toddler, so that will be a problem, because of more seams in a small area.

Any help or thoughts is greatly appreciated!!

Thanks, Karen in NWPA

Definitely do not hoop the jackets. Spray the stabilizer with 505 adhesive and then if you have basitng files this will also help. If not you can always baste by hand. Also remember that denim has stretch so you need to make sure you have a heavy weight stabilizer too. HTH Nana

For hoopless embroidery you will have to hoop the backing What you MUST achieve is a "tambourine skin" type tension in the hoop This is NECESSARY for good registration For hooples embroidery - use Hydro Stick .
