Hydro-stick instructions - last 2 points

HYDRO-STICK ADHESIVE TEAR-AWAY & CUTAWAY

Hydro-Stick was developed for embroidery applications that have been too difficult with traditional hooping. Now you can embroider irregular shaped articles, slippery fabrics and eliminate hoop burns. Hydro-Stick allows you to adhere and secure articles without having to hoop them. Great on velvets, napped materials, silks, knits, vinyl, leather and any material requiring a better hold.

HOOP APPLICATION:

  1. Cut Hydro-Stick larger than the size of the hoop to be used, then hoop the backing only. (Adhesive side up)

  1. Activate the adhesive surface with water by a damp sponge, rag, or foam paintbrush.

  2. Lightly trace where you want the article to adhere. Be sure that the surface is evenly moistened.

  1. Position article on tacky surface, flattening out all wrinkles with a slightly firm touch. Try to adhere as much of the surface as possible.

  2. Insert into machine, making sure area to be embroidered is free of wrinkles and loose fabric. If repositioning is required, lift and remoisten the surface.

  1. Embroider the item. When finished simply tear away (or cut away) the backing as you normally would, keeping in mind that there may be some resistance from the adhesive.

HOOPLESS APPLICATION:

  1. Please select a hoopless frame and size that will allow the item to slide under the arm of the machine.

  1. After choosing the proper size window, the Hydro-Stick must be cut to that size making sure that it does not extend past the edges of the window.

  2. Activate the adhesive surface with water by using a light spray mist from a water bottle or a damp sponge. Be sure that the surface is evenly moistened.

  1. Adhere the backing to the backside of the window. Insert frame on to the machine. For the initial loading of the garment place the pantograph far enough back so that the entire length of the frame is resting on the arm of the machine.

  2. Load article by sliding on to the frame and firmly adhering to the tacky surface. Please note that the clearance under the arm for the article to move freely may be tight depending on the size of the embroidery field and the window frame that is being used.

  1. Allow several seconds for the adhesive to set, and then embroider the item.

  2. When finished, remove the frame from the machine and carefully tear away the backing from the garment as well as the frame. Any residue remaining on the frame can be removed with a simple wiping from a damp rag or sponge.

Hydro-Stick is a completely safe product with no harmful chemicals. It is completely water soluble for fast easy clean up and won't 'gum' up needles or contaminate any moving parts on the machine.

Two major points

# 1 You do not need a lot of water initially

A damp sponge, rag, foam brush or stamp roller moistener will do

# 2 Remember that it is a remoistenable adhesive and that water activates it.

If you turn it over to the glue line where it touches the fabric

and remoisten right there it will reactivate and release.
