Janome prices

Looking at the new 300e and this also applies to all other Janome models.........there appears to be a price fix strategy.

Ref the 300e, wherever I look it's £699

is this so

Is that the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price?

One high street shop yesterday quoted that price with no indication of a special price.

Perhaps I will email around.

Tha machines are at a fixed price now. All similar for top of the range about £3,000. Brother 3100D is the same i.e. there are no dealers price cutting the machines. I know for a fact the retail price maintenance scheme was scrapped years ago and I am surprised they can act in this way. I have spoken to several of them at great length and here are some of their replies right or wrong. . The dealers say the price cutting was putting some dealers out of business and so it was brought in. I was also told you buy the machine from Janome and not the dealer. All I know is I cannot now get a good cash deal on a machine of my choice. I wonder though if this price fix will keep up the price of my 3,000 when I come to sell it. The Janome 300E seems to be the same price everywhere I have seen it. Whilst I am on my soapbox I am also very unhappy that the warranty on a sewing machine cannot be transferred like every other product you buy. I personally shall look for a demonstration machine if I buy another one. Moan over Liz

I have just bought the new Janome 300E. The shop here who is a Janome agent was selling it as a promo price of $1499 AU. So I decided to buy it in a few months time when my financial situation was better. I phoned Janome head quarters in Brisbane and they said that the promo price was for a few more weeks and after it finished the machine would be the proper price of $2200. I went to the shop and put the machine on Lay-buy at the reduced price as it was a great saving. Couldnt wait to pay it off so I went and put it on my credit card and picked it up. LOL. The APT flash card addapter cost me $15 and as I already have a spare compact flash card with my digital camera I didnt have to buy one of those. The sandisk (reader/writer gaget) that Janome makes was going to cost me over $150 so I went to my local computer store and got one for $39, another saving. Being able to sew the larger designs is great, I still have my Janome

10001 we are looking add just adding on. She also has a New Home Overlocker which I believe is Janome. All are very nice machines.

I am not associated with them I live 150 miles away but I have bought from them four machines in the last two years (two last month) after recommendation and couldn't praise hem higher.
