Do you use a special thread to make lace designs ..... or can I use my 40's embroidery thread?
Any tips would be very much appreciated.

I usually take the same thread, but I even used the bobbin cotton thread one time and it looked so beautiful, not bright indeed. It depends in where you would put the lace. Mitzi

You can also use 50wt. cotton to make lace. It feels more like the real thing. I wimd the bobbin with the same thread. My mom thought I had taken up tatting. ;-) One more hobby? no way. Nana

I somehow thought it would look better using the same type thread in the bobbin and the top but as I had never attemted it before I thought I would ask for some advice. So thank you all for your input on the thread type.
Also thank you Joanne for the website url.
