Looking for software

Hello,

I am looking for software to make my own embroidery designs. It has to work with the Bernina 180D. I also want to know what kind of cable I most use to upload the designs to the machine. Is this a 1 on 1 pinned connection, or must I use a crossed pinned cable.

Thanks, Sjef.

Pse, let me know. snipped-for-privacy@hotmail.com

Now you make me curious! Bernina 180D, what kind of machine is that? I haven't heard about it before. Can you give some kind of link to more information aboute it? Is it a professional machine? Just curious about a machine that might not need a card!

I found a Brother 180D, but a Bernina 180E or a Deco 650?!?!?! Brother does however make the Deco for Bernina.... So Exactly which machine is it?

Judging from the e-mail answer I got it's the Bernina 180. I think the D might be a mistype.

Well then...I can answer the question.

I purchased the "Artlink" software to get the designs from the computer to the machine. It is a very cheap piece of software. There are many free designs available on the internet in the ART format. Many digitizer produce a free design, so you can test their wares.

The computer cable is a standard "9-pin" available from any local computer store. I'm not sure of the price of the "Artista cable", but my local dealer told me to just purchase on locally to save money". Since it is just basic software, no dongle is required, and it will not work with the digitizing software. I made sure to purchase a LONG one to reach from my computer to my machine.

This will only read what is in your machine and transfer designs. It will not do any digitizing. It will however resize and join designs much faster than doing it on the machine. it is the cheapest software to get you started. Somewhere around $100 US or less.
