Need help deciding between Bernina & Baby Lock embroidery machine

I am thinking about purchasing a Bernina Deco 650 embroidery machine. I have seen it & have heard that it is an easy machine to use & does a great job. Looking around on the internet I saw that Baby Lock's Ellure machine is on sale from $3,499 to $999. I realize that it is both a sewing & embroidery machine. Just curious if I should spend the extra $300 on the Baby Lock or go with the Bernina. (I already have a sewing machine. I do minimal sewing.) If anyone has experience with these machines I would appreciate your thoughts. Thanks so much!

I am sold on the Brother-BabyLock machines....They are very adaptable, and do not cost you a fortune in extras. JMHO..............(very user friendly, too)

I have a Bernina 650. Terrific machine, beautiful stitches, lots of cards available as well as Magic Box capabilities. It is quiet, easy to setup and run and the bobbin thread has a sensor. I also have the Bernina 200 acquired last holiday. Still use them both. Both are good, just down to personal preference and pocketbook.

i had a bernina 600...and just "upgraded" to the ellure...both machines are mady by brother. t he ellure has a design field of 5x7, and in using it, i think it runs smoother and quieter than my bernina. to me, well worth the larger design field! betsey "we do not inherit the earth, we caretake it for our children"

Hi- I have a BabyLock Esante, and so far it has been wonderful. Very user friendly. It is also a sewing machine, which is great if you sew very much. It does absolutely everything in the sewing area, which I dearly love. I like the size of the embroidery field, and there seem to be lots of designs available, as well as freebies off the internet. I bought this one used, as someone had traded it in for a larger machine. But I have no complaints, and it was a bargain. I have found lots of info from both Brother and BabyLock on the internet and through dealers.

I must admit I still have and use my old Kenmore, which has years of use on it, since I bought it in 1968!!! That thing is wonderful, but I think it is because it was made so long ago, and quality and Kenmore meant more back then. I raised four kids and made tons of clothes for them on that machine. I just did a First Communion dress on it last spring. My skill level is very high on that machine:)!!

But I would recommend the BabyLock company or Brother any time.
