OT Craft Stores Information

Hello

I live outside of the USA but I'm hoping to visit Boston, in July/August and wanted some information.

I'm sorry if this is not the right place to ask.

Where would I find out where the following stores would be situated?

1) Machine embroidery thread. 2) Rubber Stamps/Stamp Pads etc. suitable for card making. 3) Fiskars products 4) Fabric for quilting and cross stitch.

I would appreciate any information i.e. names of stores, addresses in or near Boston, on these products. As I will not have a car for transport I need to be able to get there within easy walking distance or even travelling by bus/cab.

Hello there,

An excellant source for locations is quilting newsgroups like this one is for embroidery. I have asked the same questions as you, and received great recommendations. The ng for quilting that I frequent most often is rec.crafts.textiles.quilting We just usually refer to it as the RCTQ group. There are hundreds of posts, and I am sure someone will be familiar with that part of the country. Good luck.

If you do a search for Boston fabric shops on google.com you will find a list. If the shops are in the city of Boston they are easy to get to on public transportation.

There is a chain of stores in the US called "Hobby Lobby" and they carry all of the items on your list. "Michael's" and "Hancock Fabrics" are two more that would have many of the items on your want list. You can find them online at:

I recall, they all have store locators on their websites. All you needis the zip code from the area you will be visiting. What and exciting trip. I sure hope you enjoy yourself.
