PE-150

Hello, I'm new here and Embroidery. I just purchased a Brother PE-150 Embroidery machine a few days ago. I was so excite, i've wanted one for along time. I'd like to add new designs to whats already on the machine, so far I haven't gotten very far with Brother or searching the internet, Cards from Brother are very expensive. I've downloaded designs from the internet and now can't get them to my machine. What are my options? Everything else is very expencive. If I can't get designs other than whats on the machine, i'm gonna have to return the machine and say forget it. I'm very dissapointed.

You need a writer box and software that will write to the box

here is the link to PE-Design 5.0 on the brother site

will convert from one design format to another but it can not writeto a card that you put into your machine.

Do I need this PE-Design just to copy the designs? I''m not going to design my own patterns, I Just want to copy from my hard drive, ready made ones.

norma... essentially you need softwear and a device to get the designs from your computer to your machine. this involves a reader writer box and a card. the initial set up may seem expensive, but is worth it in the long run.

for cards with designs allready on them, look to ebay, sewing rummage, adn shoppers rule.

good luck! betsey "we do not inherit the earth, we caretake it for our children"

You can purchase PE Design Basic from Walmart (online only) for $196.00. That's the cheapest I've seen it new anywhere. The Basic will allow you to write PES formatted designs to your blank Brother card, and use the designs in the machine. The PE Design Basic cards hold probably about 30 designs whereas the magic box card holds only 6 at a time. Julie

I saw Joans have a little magic box or some other sort for $168, get on their mailing list (even on line if there is no store by you) and you can get a 40-50% off coupon. I always receive email from them with discount coupons plus the ones I receive monthly by mail. Joannes also has cards that fit white, singer and brother...pec format. s
