Re: Husqvarna Viking Designer One - Question/Help???

So far there is no universal dongle for Husqvarna software. But then that would be just the same as pirating or stealing since Husqvarna made those dongles to keep their software from being pirated, right? Sort of like, well I KNOW the store is locked but my friend gave me a key that fits so I can just go on in and take what I want since I have this key it must not be REALLY stealing. I've heard you can buy a replacement dongle from Husqvarna if you had the original software registered to you and the replacement price is just about the same as replacing the software package it's self. As far as I'm concerned, the stuff on eBay is worthless without the dongle. If that software has been registered and used I'm not so sure if the dongle will work on your pc or not, you'll have to ask somebody who has actually done this.

I appreciate your response. Let me assure you that I wasn't trying to steal from Husqvarna. I was trying to get a better deal on used software. Sort of like, well I KNOW the book is at Barnes and Nobles for $29.95, but my friend told me about this place called Half Price Books where it is REALLY only $15.25.

Regardless, I think you are correct that the software without the dongle is basically worthless which was the essence of my question.

I am completely unknowledgeable about these systems. My mother bought one and I thought I had stumbled upon a nice birthday present for her in the autodigitizing software. I appreciate you setting me straight even if I did offend your sensibilities.

Awe no, not offended, I really think most people don't understand the reason for the dongle in the first place or how or why it works. ................ and psssssssssst! I LOVE Half.com. but then I'm not registering an agreement with the book publishers that I will be the only one to read the book.
