StitchBuddy - Search & view embroidery on Macs

The first two modules of "StitchBuddy" are released and available for free for Mac users:

  1. StitchBuddy-QL

----------------- "StitchBuddy-QL" is the direct successor of "JEFview" and "PESviewQL", both now discontinued. Currently it only supports the same two file formats (JEF, PES), but can be and will be extended in the future. Enhancements you might like are a pseudo-realistic 3D preview, giving a good impression of the used stitches, and the color table including samples. Additional attributes like the number of different colors used and the hoop size (JEFs only) are shown for a previewed design.

  1. StitchBuddy-MD

----------------- "StitchBuddy-MD" is a new plugin and might change your way of organizing embroidery files on your Mac: It extracts information ("meta data") from JEF and PES files and stores them in the Spotlight database: Height and width of a design, the number of different colors and the number of stitches are now shown in the "File Info" dialog and more: With this information you can use Spotlight to search for embroideries, e. g. "Give me all designs with a size max. 40 x 30 mm and 2 colors". As you might know, these queries can be saved and used by the Finder as "smart folders", so every new embroidery file will automatically be examined and shown at corresponding location. Quite difficult to explain, but very easy to use: Just try it!
