Hi all. I am in the process of buying PE-Design but having second thoughts. I'm now wondering if there is a better alternative. Does anyone have suggestions on digitizing software? I have a Brother PE-400D. Also, can somebody tell me what features PE-Design V5 has that Version 4 doesn't?
Any thoughts on this subject would be appreciated before I purchase digitizing software.

filled with really nice and helpful people!! My opinions diditizing software: Even though I have used both v.4 and v.5 I'm not sure aboute the differences (I upgraded very recently). I have noticed a sewing simulator that I like. I have also noticed more choices in color palettes. I believe that v.5 open files in other formats than PES, but I'm not absolutely sure about that. I'm sure there are other differences as well, but I haven't used it enough yet. A hardware difference that I really like is the USB card writing box that comes with v.5 instead of the serial box that comes with v.4. Not that it matters much, but I do feel it's a bit more handy with USB. I have tried some other digitizing software, but I think PED is good. OK, Wilcom is better, but at what price?! It's not really for us home embroiders! Embird is good as well but personally I prefer PED to Embird. But a good thing with Embird is that you have the choice to buy one part and then add on. Great if you are on a limited budget! Embird allows you to work with and save in different formats.. Whatever you decide to get, take your time looking for a good price. They vary a _lot_!!
