Can you tell me where I can buy embroidery thread 40 wt. inexpensively. Also the differences in Rayon and the polysheen. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks Sara

Try E-bay seller Small Town Threads. They sell Marathon poly. Good quality and good prices. Poly is better for laundering as it with stands, bleach and the heat of a dryer better. I like it better that rayon. HTH

My only complaint about my marathon rayon is that there isn't a little notch in the spool to tuck the tail into. All my spools have these ungainly tails of varying lengths hanging off of them!

Minor complaint really. :) Stitches up beautifully and looks so pretty. I bought a very reasonable set ogf the rayon on ebay...I think next time I'll buy the poly set when in need of thread (for the colorfastness).

Melissa I use invisible tape to stop the ends from straying. It doesn't affect the thread at all.

I purchased some very thin plastic at the fabric store. I then cut then about 2"x4" and wrap them around the spools. The thinnest vinyl sticks to itself and keeps all the ends neat. HTH Nana

I keep a roll of Masking Tape (think of house painting) next to my machine. I use 3 inch strips to hold thread ends in place. When a piece of the tape is "exhausted" (many months) I tear a new strip.

MELCO ARC POLY/RAYON KITS, when on sale are the best deal on thread. You get 48 rolls of 1000 meters each for ~$50. I've never seen a lower price for thread anywhere. The price on EBAY for this is much more !!!!
