Thread problem

Hello Everyone, I hope you are all having a good summer.

I had a problem this week and wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this. I did a chenille blanket embroidered with Robison-Anton Rayon Brown thread. I then washed the throw and left it air dry. Well, the brown thread ran onto the blanket! AHH!

So, I need to do another one and am now concerned of what to use. I have been using the Robison-Anton thread and loved it... and I am now hesitant!

Thank you Becky Jessup, MD

Robison-Anton Rayon thread is great thread (I've been using it for years and love it). But like all Rayon fibers (threads or fabrics) it is not 100% color fast. Some colors are more color fast than others due to the dye itself (Red dyes tends to be the worst in my opinion).

If you are sewing a project where color fast thread is important (swim suit, baby clothes, industrial worker clothing) try the Robison-Anton Polyester thread. This will allow you to use warm or hot water, bleach, and strong detergents in the wash, that you don't want to use on garments with Rayon threads.

I am using Husqvarna Designer 1. But, what happened is that when the blanket/thread was wet... the color 'ran' onto to the blanket. We left the blanket lay out to dry.
