Wedding favor help needed,please

From: "DaveS" Subject: Cowgirl party hat favors Date: Thursday April 1,2204

My cousin is planning on a Country style wedding. We are looking to make individual guest favors using country style boots and hats filling them with candy/mints. We have found 3"-4" felt hats to purchase on E-Bay @. . 50 cents EACH. X's 150= too much !!!! So onto how to make, seems not that impossible BUT ..... After cutting the brim out, how do we attach the top of the hat ? Is there a way to make/ cut the hat all in one piece. We would use white for the hats and are considering making black cowboy boots as favors also. Input needed on making the boots appreciated also. The other thought is plastic hats/boots but we have found none any where. Web site or store information so much needed !!! Thanks,Linda

Why not just use bandana print fabric and make small triangle shaped pieces of fabric that look like cowboy neckerchiefs that you can fill with candy as? CiaoMeow >^;;^< .

For the cowboy boots, you might like to use one of the designs from Mooosebstitchin. In one of the sets of mini stockings, there's a cowboy boot (maybe a couple of them). They're made completely in the hoop, and when finished, you can put something small inside. I used them as Christmas ornaments/gifts with a gift certificate inside. Maybe use the bride's colours for the embroidery, or for the boot itself. For the cowboy hats, I have no suggestion - fifty cents each sounds pretty good to me, considering the amount of fiddly work that would be involved... unless someone has a really simple pattern?

Could you give us the website address for Mooosebstitchin? I couldn't find it on any of the search engines.

Thanks in advance!

I've also bought the little stuffy bears and stuffy bunnies and they'revery easy to make and look really cute. I'm not advertising for them, justthink they're very nice designs and it's great that everything's done in thehoop (except for sewing up a small opening).

Not sure where you are located, but do you have a friend or relative, that might have a business or sales tax number to gain access to a couple wholesale places?? If so, then try to locate a Darice or Pat Catan's store. We got to the one in Strongsville, Ohio, just outside of Cleveland, but they are nationwide. Another great place is called The Flower Factory, and they also have many locations. But I think they are mostly in the Ohio and Indianna areas. We drive to the one in Canton, Ohio, but there are several. As much as I like all this little stuff, I would never consider making little hats, too much little detail and time involved. I have seen little hats like you want there, at both these places. Darices probably have a website too, although we don't use it.

From the order page: "Format pes, hus, art, jef, sew, pcs"

Just an aside...I haven't been embroidering very long, but in a short time I have learned to be wary of independent digitizers. Just recently I tried the sample stitchout and then ordered two sets from one lady. UGH! The sample is the only one that stitches out nicely. Last month I bought a design set from another digitizer and am still waiting for a color sheet.

Not so with Moose B. I ordered the three sets for $25 and got an additional four designs free. I had some questions and she was very quick to respond. Her directions are clearly written and easy to follow, and best of all, everything stitches out beautifully.

If you are looking for small projects for your secret pal, gifts, or an arts and crafts booth, Moose B is a place to check out.
