glass splash backs

can someone plse help me. i have just renovated my kitchen and i am thinking of putting in a glass splashback. i have already got some glass from a previous renovation job that i did around the house.

i was wondering if someone out there can help me and lead me in the right direction on how to paint this glass. what do i need and have to do so the i can prepare and get ready to paint. (i am going to spray paint this sheet of glass). any advise will be appreciated.

Hunh! Are you going to paint the back of the back splash so the color shows through? If not, it is going to be almost impossible to keep the paint intact on the glass while cleaning and almost all the features of glass will be lost. And it would be better to paint the surface behind the glass and then install glass over it. Clear silicon caulk bead at the top and bottom to keep water and cleaning solutions from behind the glass would be a good idea.

Reverse painting on glass, which is what it is called, has become rather popular recently (or more so than in the past). There have been/will be classes at The Studio at the Corning Museum of Glass so you might look at them

and follow up on the instructors and what they have published in paper or the web.
