glass storage solutions

Hi everyone. I'm new to this group. I'm reworking my glass working area and wonder if anyone has a great idea for how to store sheets of glass [the 10" x 15" size]. I am currently using a variety of old 12" record racks, but they are increasingly hard to find and I'd like to get something consistent. They also can tip if you don't have the sheets of glass distributed evenly. Any ideas? Sources of bins/containers/racks?

If you don't want to be as ambitious as Andy's shop, get yourself those plastic milk crates. You can buy them for about $5 at a housewares store, or steal them from the back of a large supermarket. There always seems to be dozens of them around the dumpsters in different colors, and no one seems to ever pick them up? Who owns them anyway?

Andy: Way cool! Thanks for letting me see your racks. Did you build them out of melamine covered board? If yes, did you use a router to cut channels? I don't know if I'll attempt this myself, or ask a carpenter to do it for me. Nick

I built them out of 1/2" particle board and painted them white. Inbetween each slot is a peice of particle board 2" wide and 16" long. This is what holds the slots in place. Everything was glued and pin nailed together. I gave a cutting list with all the specs to a local lumber yard and they cut everything for me. don't route out slots for the dividers...you'll be at it forever. I built my first copule of racks that way.

Is there a 2" divider at the top and bottom or just the bottom? And if its tacked and glued, why use a divider at all?
